Fully Engaged
Getting Your Employees
Fully Engaged
Prize Points

Getting your employees fully engaged in your rewards program is key to the success of the program for your business. If your employees are not fully engaged, they are unlikely to get your customers fully engaged.  Inviting customer participation and exciting customers about the program is essential.  The attitude of your employees is the key.

Employees are the ones that will inform your customers that you have a rewards program and what benefits it offers. They are the ones that will issue cards. They are generally the ones awarding points and answering questions. Each employee should have their own card.  Helping employees accumulate points fast and trade those points for rewards, will help them become more fully engaged.

Employee Incentives

As an added incentive for employees to give reward cards to your customers, Prize Points offers the following incentives:

When a card is issued by an employee and the employee number is recorded with the registration, the employee will be awarded 5 points on their personal card. The minimum information required on the registration to qualify is the card number, the first and last name, and zip code. If the registration also includes the four digit PIN and a valid email address, the employee will receive an additional 10 points. This incentive will allow your employees to accumulate points rapidly.

Card registration is important. When cards are not registered, the value of your data and reports is significantly reduced. Although you will see the line by line information on each cardholder, those without registration will all show simply “registration required.” As a result you can not see the impact on individual customers.

Also, cardholders checking their points will only see “registration required” where their name should be displayed. Registration is required before cardholders can qualify for bonus points or trade their points for rewards. It should be policy to do all possible to have each card given out registered as soon as possible.

The PIN is for security. It protects against unauthorized use and theft of points.

The email is of great value to you. It allows you to communicate with your customers. Emails address are protected with great security and are never sold or used outside of the system. Emails allow us to inform cardholders when the rewards they have ordered are available.

Registering Employees for Incentives

So that we can award points for issuance, (as well as other incentives offered by Prize Points from time to time), the employee must be registered with us as your employee. Simply issue a card to your employee. Write their card number down. Login to your custom report site by going to http://www.prizepoints.com/daily-monthlyreports/login.php and entering your user name and password. Select “Employee Registration.” Then select “Add New Employee.” Enter their employee number (one you give them) and then enter their card number. You can update changes in employee information or status by selecting the appropriate action to the right of the screen.  Once you have made all the additions and changes needed, select “Save Changes” and you are done.

Employee Training

We want to support you in training and motivating your employees. Employees should be encouraged to review PrizePoints.com and to call Prize Points with any questions they may have. We always welcome questions and will take the time to answer them as completely and clearly as possible.

A suggested dialog for card issuance is available at: http://www.prizepoints.com/merchant/dialog.html

If you feel that additional on line training is needed, please send us your suggestions. Be as specific as possible regarding what training you would like to see. We will do our best to update the training as quickly as possible. We always appreciate your constructive suggestions.

Getting Excellence From Employees

Using your system to recognize employees and feature them can go a long way in creating employee loyalty.  If your business has the Prize Points video in the store, (see http://www.prizepoints.com/merchant/kiosk.html ), please consider using that video to introduce "Key Employees" and checkers, (see http://www.prizepoints.com/merchant/featured_checker.html.)

Your rewards program can do more for you than rewarding your customers for loyal behavior. You can also use it as an incentive program for employee excellence. However you measure performance from your employees, you can use points to reward excellence.

Using points has several advantages.  One is that by awarding points you are validating your rewards program to your employees.  Another is that employees can select the reward for excellence that they prefer.  They can add the points they have already accumulated or shop more at your store to add to the points for a more valuable prize.  Still another great advantage is that the incentive program already exists.  You do not have to come up with something new

To award points simply go to http://www.prizepoints.com/input/merchant.php and enter the employee's card number.  Then enter, as a dollar amount, the number of points you want awarded to the employee.

Important Note:

It is important to note that some employees may attempt to take advantage of your rewards program by awarding themselves points. We recommend that you inform employees that you have daily data on points awarded and will be paying special attention to points accumulated on their cards. Watching employee point accumulation will also help you discover which employees are issuing cards and doing it right.
