Getting
started is quick, easy, and free.
|
The first
step is determining what your goals are.
What would you like to accomplish?
- Protect
and enhance your current business.
- Attract
new customers.
- Both
of
the above.
|
1)
Protect
and enhance your current business.
If this is your goal,
you will want to issue cards. There are many
reasons to issue but, here are three:
- We are
doing business in the information age. Gathering information to
better understand and monitor your customers is an essential part of
being competitive. Issuing a card helps you to get to know your
customer base. Their use of the card allows you to recognize your
most and your least profitable customers. It allows you to more
quickly recognize
trends. You will easily recognize the effects of changes
in policies, product line, marketing campaigns, personnel, and other
business decision on your most
profitable customers. It allows you
to act,
instead of just react.
- Rewarding
loyal behavior in your customers is profitable. Loyal customers
are high volume customers. Volume is essential to profits. A
customer will remember who gave them the card that is giving them the
rewards.
- Standard
Prize Points cards are available at no
cost. You also have the option of ordering custom printed cards.
2) Attract new customers.
- Are you
most
interested in the acquisition of new customers? You can
accomplish this by simply accepting the cards issued by other business
in your market area. The more businesses in your market that
issue cards and
points the more rapidly you will acquire new customers. This
happens as cardholders learn that they can add points more
rapidly by shopping at your store, as well as the business that gave
them the card. Inviting the participation of other quality
businesses in your market area will ultimately enchance your business.
The second
step is to choose how you will award points for rewards.
There are
three options:
- Accumulation
forms.
- Card
reading POS units
- Collect
data through your POS system.
|
Accumulation forms
are free, easy to use, and instantly available. Accumulation
forms are a simple way of manually recording card usage at the point of
sale. Many businesses begin using accumulation forms and
then upgrade later.
Card reading POS
units are used by most participating businesses. These units
are a fast and accurate way of awarding points. These units are
provided to participating businesses. A very small minimum usage
agreement is required for Prize Points to provide POS
equipment. The required processing program is available through
our internet site at no cost. In rare
instances
businesses have a terminal used for credit cards that can be
programmed for Prize Points.
You may also send
card transaction data that you have collected from your POS
system.
|
The
third step is to enroll as a participant in the Prize Points program.
|
There is no fee
associated with enrollment. Once you have completed the
enrollment
form, if accepted, you will receive a Merchant ID Number within one
business day. This number is the key to awarding points at your
business. This number will allow you to order cards, pos
equipment, and other support materials.
Once you have been
assigned you Merchant ID a starter package will be sent to you.
This package will contain support materials that will identify your
business as
a participant to cardholders, assist in training your employees, and
provide all the documentation needed. You need
not wait for these materials to arrive before you begin accepting Prize
Points cards.
