Here is how the program works:  Customers make purchases at your store.  With the purchase they present a Prize Points card.  You report to Prize Points the transaction information.  The most common method of reporting data is over the internet, using a card reader but, other options are available.  The customer is awarded the number of points you choose for their purchase.

No participant is required to issue cards.  Some may simply accept the cards issued by other businesses.  However, FREE standard cards are available as are custom cards for issuance to all customers.  The business that issues cards has a distinct advantage.  Customers will remember which business gave them their rewards card. 

Customers trade their accumulated points at any time they want and as often as they want. Points are traded for the rewards they desire in a catalog of over 1,000 valuable items.  Every time the customer uses their rewards, they feel gratitude to the card issuer.  The more businesses where customers are able to accumulate points, the faster they are able to receive rewards.  Thus, the gift of the card issuer becomes more and more valuable.

The benefits to the business that did not issue the card are also great.  Imagine the neighborhood supermarket giving reward cards to their customers and encouraging them to get more value by shopping at a certain clothing store, at a given furniture store, and an identified gas station.  What a great advantage those stores have as new customers are invited to shop with them.  Yes, these are customers who have already been given a great incentive to shop at the indentified participating stores.

Customer Profiles

When a cardholder gets a card we learn a great deal about them; name, address, age, and much more.  Information received is not sold.  It is available only to participating merchants. 

Each month Prize Points gives the participating store a complete report showing the activity of each cardholder that visited their store.  Through this report, stores are able to identify customers and see changes in activity.  They are able to identify loyal customers and customers they may be losing.  Prize Points has programs to help regain a lost customer.

With the report comes an invoice for $0.02 for each point awarded to that business' customers during that month.  Out of this $0.02 per point come the rewards ordered by the customers.  Participating businesses mail their payment to Prize Points.

The standard is one point per dollar spent.  However, businesses may issue more points per dollar at any time they desire.
