AWARDING POINTS

There are four ways that points may be awarded. 

1.   Through the register:  If you have made arrangements, through your equipment software provider, to interface with Prize Points then simply scan the rewards card during the transaction and then complete the transaction in a normal manner.

2.    Through Your Equipment With Internet Access: 

If you have Internet access on a computer, tablet, or even a telephone, processing on-line is the quickest, easiest and surest way.  Just go to: http://www.prizepoints.com/tools/ and select the service you want.  The best idea is to create a desktop link to this page.  This is generally simple to do on any devise.  Please refer to your user manual.  If you need further assistance call us toll free at: 888-670-7475.  Just as an example, to create a desktop link in Windows 10, just to to the desktop and right click your mouse.  Select "Shortcut" and then enter http://www.prizepoints.com/tools/ where is ask you to "type the location of the item."  Then select "Next."  Enter "Prize Points" where it asks you to "Type a name for this shortcut," then select "Finish."  It is that simple.

Double click the shortcut on your desktop and you are ready to access all of the services you need to service your customers for rewards.  Once there, select "Award Points."  The first time you access this page, you will be asked to enter your user name and a password that was given to you when you where accepted as a Prize Points participating business.  You will not be asked to enter this information again on that machine.  

Once you are at the “Merchant Area” you can begin processing transactions for rewards.  Record the card number the press “enter” or “tab”.  You will then record the total amount of the purchase and press “enter”.  The data will instantly process and the form is ready for the next transaction.

Verification message: When the points are properly processed you will see displayed, Last insertion was successful!  If you see a message in red, it is an error message indicating that something was not entered correctly.  Please process the transaction again, correcting the error.

3.   Through Equipment Provide By Us.  Award a small minimum number of reward points to your customers and Prize Points will provide all the equipment you need.  There a several options to select from.  Click here to view options, get details, and order the equipment best for you.  Select the option that will work best with the space you have available at your point of sale.

The equipment will come preprogrammed ready for use at your business.  Just select "Award Points" then scan the card and enter the sale amount and press "Enter."  The data will instantly process and the form is ready for the next transaction.

Verification message: When the points are properly processed you will see displayed, Last insertion was successful!  If you see a message in red, it is an error message indicating that something was not entered correctly.  Please process the transaction again, correcting the error.

4.   Using "Accumulation Forms."  Accumulation forms are convenient and easy to use.  The form is available online and can be printed as needed.  The form requires only 2 pieces of information, a card number and a purchase amount. 

The form has spaces to record 19 different cardholder purchases.  We would recommend that you have a form at each point-of-sale.  Transactions recorded on a form will need to be reported to Prize Points to have the points awarded to cardholders.  Cardholders tend to check their points on-line regularly, so the more frequently they are reported the happier your customers will be.

Reporting the data can be done on-line, by email, or by mail.  To enter transactions on-line, simply follow the directions below for awarding points on-line.  You can also scan the form and email it to sales@prizepoints.com.  Another option is to mail the form to:

Accessing Your Custom Reports & Tools

The reports and tools you access, when logging in, are specific to your business.  The information is encrypted and protected.  To login, enter your user name and password, (please call us toll free at 888-670-7475 if you need help.)  Select this link to login:

Once you have entered the portal you will have four tabs of reports and a logout option.

Daily-Monthly Reports

The first tab is the Daily-Monthly Reports. These reports give you a concise report of how many card transactions have been completed in the chosen time frame, the average basket size of those transactions and information on each card use.

To access this information enter the time frame that you would like to view in the Start Date and End Date.

The first report displays the number of card uses, the cumulative points awarded, and the investment in the rewards program.  This is broken down for standard points as well as any bonus points awarded.  Bonus points are at a discount and that discounted amount is also shown.  With the simple click of a button, this file can be downloaded as a pdf file.

The second report shows each time a card is used at your business.  It is broken down by individual cardholder, showing each use and the total of the purchases for the period you have selected.  This allows you to see the value of each individual to your business. 

Displayed is the card number, the cardholder name, the date and time (each time) that points were awarded, the amount of the purchase, and the points awarded.  The click of a button can download this file in a .txt format for almost universal use.


Daily Monthly

Graphs (applicable only to those processing through their cash register system)

Below these reports you will find graphs to help you quickly see how the Prize Points program is working at your location.  These graphs compare the per transaction volume of those presenting the rewards card with those that do not.  You can also see what percentage of customers are using the card and what percentage of volume they represent, (again compared with those that do not.)

On each graph you will be able to see the exact number the graph represents by simply passing your cusor over that portion of the graph that you want details on.

Vendor Discount

The Vendor Discount is a tool that customers can use if the customer accepts the Prize Points card through their front end register system. In this program the customer would give us the UPC that they would like tracked and the qualifying criteria that is needed to earn the discount from the vendor. Our system would then track the UPC with the criteria and give the customer a report of instances where the purchases met the criteria. This page would list the report and allow downloads for further processing.

Employee Registration

As an incentive for employees to give your customers a rewards card, Prize Points gives points to them for each registered card they give out. These points are given on their personal rewards card.  To qualify they must be properly registered with Prize Points as your employee, and properly issue the card. 

To register an employee, select "Employee Registration" and then "Add New Employee."  You will be asked to enter their employee number and their card number.  Their employee number is one you select.  The card number is their personal rewards card number.  Once their card number is entered, our system will automatically look through the Prize Points card registration data and fill in the card name, (please make sure their card is registered.)

If employee information changes, (as an example, they get a replacement card), please select "edit" and then update the information as needed.  Please also "remove" those that you no longer employ to guard against them receiving information meant only for employees.

CARDHOLDER SERVICES

All cardholder services are available on line at PrizePoints.com.  Cardholders can access these services at any time with any device that offers Internet access.  You can make these services available to cardholders at your business by installing a kiosk.  Installing a kiosk is simple and LOW TO NO COST.  For details, click this link.  Cardholder services include, but are not limited to the following:

Card Registration:    Card registration is required to provide to you the quality report you desire.  It is also necessary before cardholders can redeem points for rewards and obtain other valuable benefits.  The information obtained on cardholders is held in the greatest confidence and protected with high security.  The information is never given, sold or used outside of the Prize Points program. 

Registration is simple, requiring only a minimum of information.  Traditionally the information is collected on a paper "registration form," but can be done on-line by the issuer or by the cardholder.  The important thing is that each card does get registered. 

The advantage to a paper registration is that registration can take place at the point of sale as the cards are given to customers.  However, for registration to be complete the information from the paper form needs to be entered into the data base and the quicker the better.  This can be completed instantly by the issuer or the registrations can be sent to Prize Points to be entered.  The address is:

The form shown is designed for rapid registration and should be filled out as complete as possible.  All information listed is important information.  A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a required security element.  When a cardholder wants to order or combine points, the PIN is required.  The customer should be encouraged to choose a PIN that they will easily remember.  The email address will be used to communicate with the customer.  Without it we cannot notify the cardholder that their is an issue with an order or that their order is ready for pickup.  The customer should be assured that their email will never be sold or given outside of the system.  Without the email we cannot welcome the cardholder and send updated information.  We also cannot send out information that you would like to communicate to your customers.  The phone number is used to contact a cardholder when speed is important, such as if we discover their card has been compromised.  It is also used when we are unable to get a response using their email.  The zip code will help you better understand your customer base.  Every piece of information is important for us to properly serve your customers and you. 

Register A Phone Number (for use when processing through PrizePoints.com/tools):  

From time to time a cardholder will make a purchase and want their points for that purchase, but discover they do not have their card with them.  You can award them points by entering their phone number (including area code) in place of their card number.  To do this, enter all 10 digits with no spaces or symbols.  As an example if their phone number is (333) 444-5555, then enter (in place of the card number) 3334445555. 

This will work only if that phone number was previously registered with their card.  If not, there is no way for the system to tie that phone number with their card number and award them the points.  So, please verify that they have registered that phone number with Prize Points.  If they are not completely confident this has already been done, then register their phone number by selecting this option.

It simply asks for their name and the phone number.  Select submit and it is done.  Double registering a card is better than have a frustrated customer who is expecting points but, do not get them.

Checking Cardholder Point Accumulations.  Cardholders can check their points at any time of the day by simply going to PrizePoints.com then selecting "Check Your Points" in the top bar.  They will then enter their card number and select "Login."  A history of each time they have accumulated points as well as their total point accumulation is displayed.  If you choose, you may assist cardholders in checking their points.

Transferring Points:  Points can be transferred from one card to another card.  There is two basic purposes in doing this.  The first is to insure that if a cardholder loses their card they will not lose their points.  The second is to allow family members to each have a card and then combine there points as desired for rewards of greater value.  The process is simple.  It does require that the customer use their PIN to verify that they are the rightful owner of the card points are being transferred from.  This is to protect cardholders from someone finding a lost card and stealing the points from it.  When a cardholder is checking their points, they will find a link to the right of that page that will take them to the form for transferring points.  Prize Points personnel are always happy to assist as needed.

Redemption Catalog:  Through the catalog the cardholder can find the rewards they desire from a selection of over two thousand rewards.  Once they have collected needed points they can order the items on-line.  In most instances this takes place at home or work.  However, for those few that do not have Internet access, kiosks are a great service.

Bonus Points and Games.  This link at the top of the Prize Points home page invites cardholders to see all of the special offers.  Businesses can use the program in many ways to promote there business and products.  We recommend that you go to Prize Points Promotions page and consider how to get the maximum value from your participation.

Redeeming Coupons:  Here is the process for redeeming coupons.

On the device you are using to access Prize Points "Tools" go to the "Tools" page.

Scroll down and select “E-coupon.”

Enter the card number and select “Submit.”

If the cardholder has earned one or more coupons, those coupons will appear.  Select the coupon that the customer is redeeming and then give the cardholder the applicable discount.  If the cardholder does not have a
coupon, the following statement will appear: “There is no available coupons for this customer”.

Select the “Go Back to Tools” button.


Once a coupon is marked by you as redeemed, it is deleted from the system, so that it can not be used more than once. 

Often, there is no fee for the coupon service.  If you have an idea for a coupon that you would like to offer, call or email us and we will work with you to accomplish your goal.


Awarding Bonus Points:

Bonus points can be awarded at a discounted rate.  Once you have indentified the parameters of awarding bonus points, qualified bonus points are automatically added as you process purchases for points.  Click Here for Details.
